Congratulations and thank you to the Theta Kappa Chapter and its officers, past and present, for receiving 6 of the 8 GSU Inter-Fraternity Council (IFC) major awards this year. This is an absolutely stunning accomplishment and speaks volumes about the heart, mind, and character of our young men and where they are headed. We definitely cleaned up and we must sustain this, but we are on the trajectory to do just that.
BTW - Sigma Nu at GSU has a great time too!
For the 2015-16 GSU Greek Awards:
- IFC Chapter of the Year (Fraternity of the Year) (two years in a row)
- Five Star Chapter Award (two years in a row)
- Outstanding Leadership Award
- Outstanding Brotherhood Award
- Outstanding Civic Engagement
- Outstanding Academic Success Award
There is a little bit of momentum here since 2013 and I can't individually recognize everyone, so I will mention the Commanders who represent the entire Theta Kappa Chapter of Sigma Nu Fraternity:
- 46th Commander (2015-16): Zach Geurin (ΘΚ 823)
- 45th Commander (2014-15): Adam Clay (ΘΚ 810), now the IFC President for 2015-16
- 44th Commander (2013-14): Eric Degen (ΘΚ 811)
- 43rd Commander (2013): Evan Winebarger (ΘΚ 754), now on the Sigma Nu Fraternal Staff
For the 2014-15 GSU Greek Awards:
- IFC Chapter of the Year (Fraternity of the Year)
- Five Star Chapter (out of 5; last year 4 Star)
- Philanthropy Award
- Campus Involvement Award (two years in a row)
For the 2013-14 GSU Greek Awards:
- Four Star Chapter (out of 5; only 4 star chapter or above on Greek Row)
- Public Relations Award
- Campus Involvement Award
- Most Improved GPA
Additionally the Theta Kappa Chapter received 7 excellence rating out of 10 areas in the Sigma Nu Pursuit of Excellence 2015 reports. The remaining 3 were very good ratings, which is the next highest rating. In 2015 they received the Pursuit of Excellence Program Award for Excellence in Personal Development and Membership Value as well as the Pursuit of Excellence Program Award for Operational Excellence. Additionally Theta Kappa received a Manpower Award for a 25% Increase in Manpower (56% Increase) and an award for Excellence in LEAD Phase I. These are significant achievements and places Theta Kappa in the top tier of Sigma Nu chapters and reinforces the recognition received at the local level.

Congratulations to the Collegiate Men of the Theta Kappa Chapter and to the entire Chapter. At the “2014 GSU Greek Awards” on Wednesday, November 19th, we were awarded:
- Chapter of the Year (Fraternity of the Year)
- Five Star Chapter (out of 5; last year 4 Star)
- Philanthropy Award
- Campus Involvement Award (two years in a row)
- Brian Griffin, ΘΚ 759, was sworn in as IFC VP for Programming
- Additionally Adam Clay, ΘΚ 810, was awarded the IFC Merit Scholarship.
This is a tremendous accomplishment and we should all be proud for them! Thank you to the actives and to the leaders of the chapter for this wonderful feat. This chapter is headed on a great trajectory and we welcome all of your involvement, but also begin to make plans to come to GSU next year to celebrate of 45th! More details will be published soon.
